Zaragoza announces new connections to Andalusia: destinations and travel times

Traveling from Zaragoza to some of Andalusia’s main southern destinations will now be easier without having to buy multiple tickets. Renfe and Avanza have expanded their combined Train+Bus ticket offer with new connections to the Campo de Gibraltar and Costa del Sol, allowing passengers to complete the entire journey with a single purchase and a transfer in Málaga.

These new connections offer travelers a simple, coordinated and competitive alternative for journeys to and from areas that currently lack a direct rail connection. A daily service in each direction has therefore been launched, connecting Zaragoza with Gibraltar/La Línea and Algeciras, in the Campo de Gibraltar, as well as Estepona and Marbella, on the western Costa del Sol.

FROM ZARAGOZA TO MARBELLA IN JUST OVER SIX HOURS

The service departs from Zaragoza at 10:22 a.m. on a Renfe AVE train to Málaga, where passengers continue their journey on an Avanza bus. The journey takes less than nine hours between the Aragonese capital and Algeciras; just over eight hours to Gibraltar; seven and a half hours to Estepona; and slightly more than six and a half hours to Marbella. In the opposite direction, the bus departs from Algeciras at 12:00 p.m.

THE ENTIRE JOURNEY ON A SINGLE TICKET

The Train+Bus intermodal service expands mobility options, reduces travel times and connects towns without a direct rail link more efficiently, while also allowing passengers to plan the entire journey with a single purchase.

This travel model helps open up the market and expand travel options by combining high-speed rail with road transport, extending the benefits of train travel to areas with specific connectivity needs.
