The notable Aragonese anniversary commemorated today, October 21, recalls that in 1789 the Imperial Canal of Aragon became navigable. The original idea was to connect the Cantabrian Sea with the Mediterranean, and although this was ultimately not possible, it became possible to travel by boat between Zaragoza and Tudela, both on passenger and cargo vessels and recreational boats.
As a child, Paco Roca says, he did not have many friends, so he would spend hours drawing. At first, it was simply for entertainment, and later to relive things that had once made him happy, such as the first time he saw "The Empire Strikes Back" at the cinema, knowing his parents would not take him to see it again. That way of reliving—and also altering—reality is what, many years later, still makes him sit down time and again in front of a blank sheet of paper. The National Comic Award winner is now displaying his entire creative universe, from early childhood to the present, in the exhibition "The Stone Age of Paco Roca... and a Little Something Else" at the Centro de Historias.
