“Very sharp” weather change to bid farewell to Pilar festivities: 10 degrees lower and overcast skies

Aragon is experiencing weather more typical of September, with unusually high temperatures for this time of year, as confirmed by AEMET. Although the situation will last for a few more days, it is nearing its end. The weekend when Zaragoza bids farewell to the Pilar festivities will be marked by a “very sharp” change in the weather, according to the State Meteorological Agency.

That sharp change will bring a “notable or extraordinary” drop in temperatures, with readings falling by 10 degrees across much of Aragon and winter-like lows in Teruel reaching as low as 1 degree. In addition, the change in both Teruel province and Huesca will also be accompanied by rainfall from next week onward.

Temperatures will remain high from Wednesday through Friday, with the drop arriving on Saturday. In Zaragoza, they will range between 29 and 30 degrees, in Huesca between 25 and 26, and in Teruel between 26 and 27. Lows will also remain high over these days, at 16 degrees in the Aragonese capital, 14 and 15 in Huesca, and 10 and 11 in Teruel.

THE DROP BEGINS ON SATURDAY

By Saturday, temperatures will already begin to turn colder, with highs of 23 degrees in Zaragoza and overcast skies, 21 in Huesca and 22 in Teruel. Showers and light rain are expected in the latter two areas. From Sunday, the drop will be even more notable in the Aragonese capital, with a high of just 18 degrees, compared with 17 in Huesca and 15 in Teruel.
