Lucía embarked on this adventure alongside other content creators, including @vlogpakow, with a very personal challenge: to walk the Camino de Santiago wearing a pair of Buffalo sneakers that have accompanied her for the past four years, through the highs and lows of her life. "I wanted to do it as a personal challenge. I'm a Christian, so it was a kind of sacrifice," she explained during her first stage. It was then that she also shared a reflection that now takes on a special meaning: "In the end, it's like life—no one should judge you, because no one has walked in your footsteps."
For several days, the influencer shared images from the experience, but one of the most moving scenes came in a video in which she asks other pilgrims what led them to undertake the route. At the beginning of the recording, a man appears alongside a woman. When Lucía asks them why they are doing the Camino, the woman points to him and explains that he became a widower after her sister died a few years ago, and that she decided to accompany him to Santiago because he wanted to have that experience with his wife, even though she is no longer alive.
A TRIBUTE THAT TRAVELS TO SANTIAGO
The man, who is wearing a cachirulo tied around his neck, then opens his jacket to reveal a personalised T-shirt featuring an illustration of a woman and a dedication: "For you, Mati." "I've got goosebumps," Lucía reacts before hugging him. But the encounter holds another detail: the pilgrim unties a cachirulo from his sister-in-law's backpack and gives it to the influencer.
The recording continues with other personal stories, although that encounter seems to have left a particularly strong impression. After several days on the trail and around 100 kilometres walked, Lucía published a collection of photographs to remember the experience. One of them shows the influencer with the cachirulo tied to her own backpack and a light-blue ribbon bearing the image of the Virgen del Pilar around her left wrist.
Two symbols linked to Zaragoza that have ultimately become part of her memories of the Camino. On a route where each person moves forward for different reasons, the journey is also about encountering the paths of others and understanding everything they have travelled through.
