The initiative has closed this edition with more than €2.1 million raised across Spain, an amount equivalent to around 1,500 tonnes of basic food products. The products will be distributed through the 53 food banks associated with FESBAL and nearly 6,000 collaborating social organizations. According to the campaign’s organizers, the funds could cover the basic food needs of more than 5,000 vulnerable families for one year.

FOOD POVERTY CONTINUES TO HIT HOUSEHOLDS

The campaign began on June 9 with an initial contribution of €1 million from the ”la Caixa” Foundation and subsequently mobilized citizens, companies and institutions. Around 2,600 donations have been recorded during these months, with an average contribution of €166, while donations made by major food-producing companies increased by more than 51% and reached a combined value of €715,835.

The initiative also comes at a time when financial difficulties continue to affect numerous households. The press release cites data from the report The State of Poverty 2026, prepared by the European Network to Combat Poverty and Social Exclusion in Spain (EAPN-ES), which puts the number of people at risk of poverty in Spain at around 10 million, or 19.5% of the population.

Pedro Llorca, president of the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL), stressed that ensuring access to dignified food is “a basic need and a commitment that concerns us all as a society.” He also highlighted the collaboration among citizens, companies, institutions and social organizations to continue assisting those experiencing vulnerable circumstances.

MORE THAN €15 MILLION RAISED SINCE 2020

For his part, Marc Simón, deputy general manager of Social Affairs at the ”la Caixa” Foundation, said that meeting basic needs is essential for people to develop their life plans. CaixaBank has also contributed by making its digital channels and branch network available to the campaign to facilitate donations and raise awareness of food poverty.

Since its launch in 2020, "No Home Without Food" has raised more than €15.2 million, equivalent to over 13,900 tonnes of basic products for people experiencing vulnerability. The seventh edition once again places access to sufficient food at the center of a social reality that continues to affect millions of households in Spain.
