Renfe’s Campus in Zaragoza is delivering this new train-driving course so that students can obtain a train driver’s licence and diploma. These qualifications allow them to work for any railway company, both passenger and freight operators. The Zaragoza cohort is part of the railway company’s 20th intake.

250 HOURS OF PRACTICAL DRIVING

Training will continue until next August at the facilities in the Expo Business Park, which are equipped with two state-of-the-art simulators. Aspiring train drivers can use them to hone their skills in multiple scenarios and under simulated degraded operating conditions.

The programme combines theoretical training in subjects such as mechanics, infrastructure, safety and railway legislation with 250 hours of practical driving on tracks and aboard Renfe trains.

FOURTH COHORT IN ZARAGOZA

This will be the fourth cohort of aspiring train drivers to attend Renfe’s School in Zaragoza, which is part of the railway company’s 20th intake. The Zaragoza centre opened its doors in 2023 and, in addition to delivering the driving course, provides refresher training for the operator’s staff.

The Zaragoza Campus is part of Renfe’s network of training centres, along with those in Madrid, León, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Seville, Málaga, Valencia, Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela, Miranda de Ebro, Bilbao and Santander.
