Disability and Healthcare in Zaragoza: Dfa to Host Inclusive Care Conference

The conference will analyze the health of people with disabilities and examine the remaining challenges to guarantee inclusive healthcare on equal terms. This is the aim of the new event that Fundación Dfa will hold next Tuesday, October 6, as part of the “Dfa, 50 Years Towards Inclusion” series. The panel will bring together different perspectives from the healthcare and social sectors to discuss issues including accessibility, the humanization of care, healthcare and social services coordination, continuity of care and people’s participation in decisions related to their own health. The event will feature Cristina Sarasa, director general of Care and Humanization at the Department of Health of the Government of Aragon; Javier Arredondo, president of the Aragon Patients’ Forum (FAP); Alfredo Pérez, ASISA’s provincial delegate in Zaragoza; and Pilar Moreno, director of Social Centers at Fundación Dfa. Journalist Ana Esteban will moderate the debate. DFA’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY The event is part of Fundación Dfa’s 50th-anniversary commemorative program, which this year is bringing together professionals, institutions, organizations and experts to analyze progress made and the main future challenges in different areas related to disability. The series is supported by Ibercaja in Zaragoza and Fundación Ibercaja in Huesca and Teruel. The program began by focusing on housing accessibility and, after addressing issues such as women and disability, independent living, mobility and employment, this new event turns to healthcare to identify the changes that are still needed. On December 1, the series will conclude by bringing together representatives of all political parties to share its conclusions and call for policy commitments.
