Some localities in the Valencia region have received 100 liters of rain, according to the regional minister for Finance and the Interior, Roberto Bermúdez de Castro, who compared the situation there with Aragon, where storm cells have been recorded in the city of Teruel, Bajo Aragon and Montaluy, but without causing any incidents.
Bermúdez de Castro said that, according to information from Aemet, “things could become somewhat complicated between 8 p.m. and midnight,” as the most intense storms are expected during that period, particularly around the provincial capital of Teruel, Bajo Aragon and Caspe.
For this reason, Cecopi will remain permanently alert to possible incidents, as Procifemar remains active. The minister said that “no alert will be sent to the public,” which can stay informed through the media and 112's social media channels.
Bermúdez de Castro issued recommendations to the public: “Although we have not reached red-level conditions, we ask citizens that, if torrential rain occurs, they under no circumstances cross streams or ravines and avoid traveling during the hours of the strongest storms, from 8 p.m. to midnight, whenever possible. Above all, when water begins to flow through dry ravines, no one should attempt to cross them by car or take shelter beneath highway bridges.”
