To this end, the regional government has undertaken to make a total of 756 information posters about the Senior Citizensó Helpline available to the official pharmacistsé associations in the three provinces, in order to promote and publicise the service. At the same time, the official pharmacistsé associations have undertaken to distribute the Senior Citizensó Helpline information materials to their members, so that they can voluntarily and free of charge display them in pharmacies and pharmaceutical dispensaries. The distribution and subsequent installation of the materials provided will be reported to the Directorate-General for Older People of the Government of Aragon.

Nolasco said the signing of this agreement aims to “increase awareness of the Senior Citizensó Helpline, which is free of charge and is a service for older people in Aragon who live at home, are at risk of losing functional autonomy or are experiencing situations of social vulnerability”. This is an area in which “pharmacies make a significant contribution, because they play an important social role by maintaining direct contact with the population and being located across large areas of our region”. “They are establishments frequently used by older people, a group that finds in pharmacy professionals a safe and reliable source of support for the needs they face,” she added.

The Department of Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family will deliver the aforementioned materials to the associations over the next 7 days. The official pharmacistsé associations will subsequently distribute these materials for installation in pharmacies and dispensaries within a maximum period of 15 days. The agreement does not entail any financial commitments for the Government of Aragon or give rise to financial compensation between the signatory parties.
