“I would have preferred him to talk about the problems facing the people of Aragon,” the president of Aragon said after a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Monastery of Poblet, before adding that he would also have liked Sánchez to commit to solving some of the region’s outstanding problems, such as water and energy. For this reason, he said he did not understand why “he was applauded so enthusiastically.”
He was also asked whether he agreed with the view expressed by Popular Party spokeswoman Esther Muñoz, who defended changing the public pension system “boldly.” In response, Azcón said he was convinced that Feijóo would improve the public pension system because “he is a serious person with a proven track record in management.”
Referring to the words of the PP candidate for the presidency, the head of the regional government explained that “the economy needs to function in order to pay the pensions of our elderly and young people,” and that this requires sound management and economic growth.
