The association believes that what happened could have been avoided with appropriate intervention and argues that situations of this kind should be handled by agents specialized in wildlife. Its proposals include establishing a clear procedure involving sedating the animal and subsequently relocating it so it can be released into its habitat. Its aim, it says, is to prevent similar incidents from ending with a wild animal being killed by private individuals.
AMNISTÍA ANIMAL
Amnistía Animal is also questioning the municipal response and says it is reporting the alleged lack of diligence in reviewing surveillance camera footage to determine how the wild boar reached central Zaragoza. For now, the origin of the incursion remains unknown. The animal ran through several streets in the urban center before entering a bar on Temple Street, where, according to police information, it charged at a woman and caused minor injuries. The establishment's owner and several customers killed the wild boar to prevent it from causing further harm.
The organization has begun searching for possible witnesses and people who may have images of what happened. It is also seeking information about who may have released the animal and about the actions of the patrols that followed it during its journey. Information can be provided by calling 620 409 507. In addition, Amnistía Animal is preparing a rally to publicly denounce what happened and demand accountability. <
