The worst fears have been confirmed for iLerna Lleida point guard Adrià Rodríguez, after the club announced he will be sidelined for three months due to a distal radius fracture in his right wrist that will require surgery. The injury is directly linked to an unfortunate incident with Trae Bell-Haynes last Sunday.

I have never played with the intent to hurt or injury anyone. That’s not who I am as a person or player. It was a basketball play that went wrong, and I’m sorry about that. Speedy recovery to Adria, I hope to see him back on the court as soon as possible. — Trae Bell-Haynes (@TraeBall_5) October 18, 2026

At the end of the third quarter, the point guard went up for a dunk and the Casademont Zaragoza player, attempting to stop the play, caused the Catalan guard to lose his balance in the air and prevented him from grabbing the rim to break his fall. It was an unfortunate situation for which Trae apologized after the game, saying he would never deliberately hurt an opposing player, after some Lleida fans had attacked him on social media.

"I have never played with the intent to hurt or injure anyone. That’s not who I am as a person or player. It was a basketball play that went wrong, and I’m sorry about that," the point guard posted on social media.
