The new infrastructure was made possible by a municipal investment of more than €500,000. In addition, a contribution from the Government of Aragón is expected, as part of a context of collaboration and support for other football facilities such as La Romareda, the Huesca stadium and the future Pinilla stadium.
The new pitch will solve one of the main problems faced by teams in the area during the winter. Until now, rain made it impossible to train properly on the region’s pitches, a difficulty that will be resolved with the new surface. It will also be the only artificial-turf pitch in Sobrarbe.
The facility will also play an important role in sports training in the area. The Sobrarbe Sports School is based at the Aínsa pitch, where more than 200 children play football.
DEPORTIVO SOBRARBE TO PLAY ITS FIRST MATCH AT THE PITCH
The inauguration will coincide with Deportivo Sobrarbe’s match this Sunday against Atlético Monzón in the Primera Regional league. The home team enters the game determined to change its sporting fortunes after being unable to play any of this season’s matches at its own ground. The club’s directors expect a large number of spectators from across the region.
Football also has another nearby point of reference in Boltaña, which attracts top-level teams such as Real Zaragoza thanks to a natural-grass pitch with the features of a professional facility.
