The Pilar Videomapping Show Will Have New Sessions in Zaragoza: Dates and Times

The videomapping show that turned one of the Basilica of the Pilar’s towers into a giant screen at the start of the festivities will have new sessions for those who missed it or want to enjoy it again. The show, which premiered this Saturday minutes before the proclamation by Zaragoza’s firefighters, offered a visual and musical journey through the city’s history and devotion to the Virgin of the Pillar.

The projections will be repeated on October 11, 15 and 16 at 9:25 p.m., while on October 12, 14 and 17 they will begin at 8:25 p.m. There will be no session on Tuesday the 13th to avoid coinciding with the celebration of the Glass Rosary, one of the most emblematic events on the festivities program.

Under the slogan "This Pilar, you are going to get emotional," the audiovisual show explores different episodes from Zaragoza’s history, from ancient Caesaraugusta and the Ebro River to the tradition of the Virgin’s Arrival and the jasper column preserved in the church. The images projected onto the basilica’s eastern tower combine light and music to revisit the roots of the festivities and even look ahead to 2040, when the bicentenary of the Virgin’s Arrival will approach.
