Carolina Durante and La Casa Azul Win Over 4,000 Indie Fans at Zaragoza’s FIZ

Spanish indie music is enjoying a golden moment, as shown by the many festivals held across the country this summer. Zaragoza’s audience proved it once again at FIZ, the 24th Zaragoza Independent Music Festival, which brought 4,000 people to the Auditorium’s Multi-Purpose Hall on Saturday.

The lineup brought together some of the most prominent acts on the national scene, including Carolina Durante, La Casa Azul, La Paloma and Repion, alongside several names linked to Aragon’s club culture. Marina Domínguez opened the main stage with a performance built around friendship, everyday doubts and shared energy.

La Paloma followed with songs from Un golpe de suerte. The Madrid band brought a performance defined by guitars, intensity and a repertoire that once again established them among the leading acts in Spain’s current rock scene.

The night continued with Repion. Sisters Marina and Teresa Iñesta combined melody and electricity in one of the day’s most powerful live performances, featuring songs that have made them key names in the new independent music scene.

HEADLINERS

One of the festival’s most eagerly awaited moments came with Carolina Durante as the festival’s headliners. The Madrid band returned to FIZ and turned the Multi-Purpose Hall into a collective singalong with a set that alternated songs from Elige tu propia aventura with some of the best-known tracks from their career.

After midnight, La Casa Azul took over and transformed the venue into a dance floor. Guille Milkyway and his band delivered their electronic pop sound and revived some of the best-known songs from their career, including "La Revolución sexual," "Podría ser peor" and "La fiesta universal."

The main stage was closed by Chelis, who celebrated 30 years in the industry with the special "30 años DJ Set," accompanied by visual creations from VJ Héctor de la Puente. The set brought the curtain down on a night marked by a blend of styles.

Meanwhile, FIZ Club kept the second stage active with sets from Dupla, Sweet Drinkz and Ms Von Disko, putting the spotlight on the local scene and Aragon’s club culture throughout the night.
