Backrooms leaves the screen and comes to Belchite's Old Town this Saturday

Belchite's Old Town will become a large open-air cinema next Saturday, September 26, at 9 p.m. Embou and Filmin will bring a special screening of Backrooms to this Aragonese landmark, moving the film from home screens to one of the region's most unique settings.

The initiative aims to offer Embou customers a different way to enjoy entertainment while also using this cultural event to highlight Belchite and contribute to the preservation of its heritage.

Belchite's Old Town itself will be an essential part of the setting. Its unique character will take the film out of its usual audiovisual consumption environment and turn the screening into a shared experience in an exceptional setting.

FROM STREAMING TO BELCHITE'S OLD TOWN

The internet and streaming platforms have changed the way we access films, series and other audiovisual content. With this initiative, Embou and Filmin want to show how both worlds can complement each other: bringing a story we can enjoy at home to a physical space and turning it into a collective experience. An idea that particularly reflects Filmin's approach to cinema, as the platform has championed the cinematic experience in all its forms since its beginnings, bringing films to audiences in cinemas and other screening spaces as well. As a platform, distributor and part of an ecosystem dedicated to cinema.

Backrooms will be available on Filmin from September 25 and, just one day later, will arrive at Belchite's Old Town through this special screening. Filmin is also one of the entertainment services that Embou currently offers its customers.

Directed by Kane Parsons, Backrooms brings to the big screen the horror phenomenon that originated and gained popularity online. The story begins with the appearance of a mysterious threshold leading to a maze of seemingly familiar spaces, lit by fluorescent lights but unsettling and endless. The atmosphere takes on a special dimension when it is transferred to a setting as unique as Belchite's Old Town.

AN INITIATIVE BUILT ALONGSIDE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

The event brings together various organizations and companies linked to Aragon. Embou, Filmin, Belchite Town Council and Belchite de Película are organizing the initiative, which is supported and backed by the Belchite Old Town Foundation.

The joint involvement of institutions, companies and organizations allows the screening of Backrooms to go beyond the cinematic event itself and become an initiative with an impact on the place hosting it.

CINEMA TO HELP PRESERVE BELCHITE'S MEMORY

The initiative will also have a significant social dimension. For every person who attends the event, Embou will donate 5 euros to the Belchite Old Town Foundation to help fund conservation and restoration work at this historic site.

Belchite's Old Town is an exceptional cultural heritage site whose preservation requires ongoing consolidation and rehabilitation efforts. For this reason, the event also aims to leave a tangible contribution to the area and help ensure that future generations can continue to learn about and explore this site.

The initiative will be complemented by the campaign “Belchite needs you. Don't let its history be erased,” through which anyone wishing to participate can contribute directly to the Belchite Old Town Foundation by making a donation via Bizum to 11861, in collaboration with Belchite Town Council.
