"Al museo en familia" returns to Zaragoza with children's workshops on history and archaeology

Zaragoza City Council, through its municipal museums, will launch a new edition of the "Al museo en familia" program on October 24. The initiative will run on weekends through June 2027, bringing the city's history and cultural heritage closer to families through educational, hands-on activities combining learning, play and experimentation.

This initiative is part of the city's municipal cultural program and aims to promote knowledge of Zaragoza's historical heritage from an early age, while also presenting museums as spaces for intergenerational meeting, participation and shared learning. Through activities adapted to different age groups, participants can discover what life was like in ancient Caesaraugusta, learn about archaeological work and explore various aspects of Roman history through practical experiences and participatory activities.

The program includes "The 6 Trials of Heraclius," aimed at children aged 4 to 7, which introduces them to different aspects of Roman architecture. Meanwhile, "In Search of the Lost Treasure," designed for participants aged 8 to 12, offers an introduction to the world of archaeology. The program also includes "Lucius' Journeys," an activity set in the port of Caesaraugusta that explores different aspects of daily life during the Roman era.

Each activity lasts approximately one hour and 15 minutes and costs 2 euros per person. Places are limited, and tickets go on sale on the first Monday of each month through the municipal museums' activities platform.

BRINGING CULTURE WITHIN REACH FROM CHILDHOOD

The "Al museo en familia" program takes place on weekends at the municipal museums and is part of Zaragoza City Council's initiatives to facilitate access to culture, promote the city's historical heritage and encourage new audiences to take part in museum activities.
